Welcome to davidjmacneil.com David J. MacNeil was born and raised in Ottawa, Canada. He has appeared on television series including Mutant X, 72 Hours: True Crime, Jeff Ltd., ‘Til Death Do Us Part, and as a series regular on CBC's The X for two seasons. David's film credits include Do or Die, Deathlands, and the Superman biopic, Hollywoodland. He has also appeared in over thirty-five television commercials. Over the years, David has studied acting and improv with such respected organizations as The Second City, Carter Thor Studios, Theatresports, and The Actor’s Workshop. David earned a Bachelor degree from The University of Ottawa, with a specialization in Theatre & Communications; and a diploma in Television Broadcasting from Algonquin College. An accomplished producer and an award winning writer; David has won two Promax North America Awards for television ad copy writing. David resides in Toronto, where he is the creative director of his company Monkey-boy Productions. When Dave isn’t flexing his creative muscles, he can usually be found tearing up the open road on his motorcycle. David J. MacNeil is a member of ACTRA and is represented by Amanda Rosenthal Talent Inc. In The News -- Earlier this year Dave played the lead in the short film "Undercurrent", written, co-produced, and co-starring Rhea Akler, and directed by Jock MacDonald. Undercurrent recently screened at ReelHeart International Film Festival in Toronto, The SOCAL International Film Festival in Huntington Beach California, La Femme International Film Festival in Los Angeles and The Anchorage International Film Festival in Alaska.
